NEW DELHI: Delhi witnessed a sunny but cool Wednesday morning with rains expected later in the day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
The minimum temperature settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season, an IMD official said. "The skies will remain cloudy and there is a likelihood of rain and thundershowers," he said. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius. Delhi recorded 58.2 mm of rainfall from Tuesday 8.30 a.m. to Wednesday 8.30 a.m. The humidity was 84 percent. The maximum temperature recorded Tuesday was 35.6 while the minimum was 25.6 degrees Celsius. Tuesday was the wettest day of the monsoon so far, with heavy rains lashing most parts of the city. Delhi has received a total of 192.2 mm rainfall till now, 23 percent less than the normal rainfall for the season.
